According to reports from PCT 4, on August 2, 2019, deputies with the Constable Mark Herman's office responded to the intersection of Veterans Memorial Drive and Gears Road in reference to a major vehicle crash.

Upon deputies arriving, it was discovered that the at-fault driver fled the scene on foot and did not provide any information or check the occupants of the other vehicle for any injuries.
EMS responded to the scene and transported a mother and her child to a local hospital.

During the investigation, a male reported his vehicle stolen to Precinct 4 Dispatch. Constable Deputies confirmed it was the same vehicle involved in the crash. After speaking with the vehicle owner, he later admitted he was the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident and fled the scene.

"Franklin Ford was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid. His bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 262nd District Court." - Constable Mark Herman
