HCSO Deputies Capture Armed Suspect

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputies have made an arrest in response to an aggravated robbery call at the Family Dollar located at 10425 Veterans Memorial Dr. that dropped on Wednesday, June 7th.
The call slip advised a male entered the store brandishing a pistol, and was forcing the manager to the rear of the store. The suspect fled the store in a Chevrolet Impala with paper covering both license plates. Deputies R. De La Cruz, B. Kizzee and P. Villacorta responded to that location near the Family Dollar store, where they observed the male, who matched the description of the suspect, going through items inside the trunk of a vehicle. Deputies were able to take the suspect into custody without incident – during the subsequent investigation, the money was located in the trunk of the suspect’s vehicle, along with the clothing the suspect had removed after committing the robbery.
Kevin Scurry Jr. (26, Houston) was charged with Felony Aggravated Robbery, and is being held in the Harris County Jail on $50,000 bond.
